Nikon Photo Trip 2008 overview

It’s been a busy 3 days for me, with tight schedules and fun shooting in between. Yes I’m talking about the Nikon Photo Trip 2008 which was organized by Nikonian Academy 3 days ago. Hey but wait, I’m a Canon user you say, well it’s not about the brand of the camera, but the techniques and skills applied when using your favorite brand of camera, so now please don’t flame each other about camera brands, it’s just pointless.

The 3 days were a fun three days, with 8 tracks altogether packed with informative and useful workshops, which ranged from topics such as Professional Studio Photography to Macro Photography, Wedding Photography and much more! I feel I have really benefited from this workshop and am actually looking forward to future workshops. Hopefully the fees would remain an affordable price

The trainers,were nice and fun to interact with, participants were enthusiastic as well. Sometimes a little too enthusiastic that they forget that there are other people at the back who has not had a chance to try shooting yet! Being said that, it was still a fun trip all in all, what’s more, I won my first prize from photography!! First runner up in the Best Swimsuit Photo, and the prize is…… drum roll….. a Jenova camera bag, it’s as Andrew put it ‘Big ASS, Kick ASS’, no really, it’s huge, with lots of compartments and pockets for you to store your camera gear as well as a laptop!! If only I had won this earlier I would have bought a dry box instead of my Lowepro Computrekker AW, oh well, at least now I have a choice of which bag to use alternately!!

There were actually two categories for the competition, A Best Overall Photo for Photo Trip 2008 and a Best Swimsuit category, no luck for the first category though. Still I’m quite satisfied with myself so far, though it’s not first place but it’s still a start.
